The Netherlands (NL) is firmly committed to a comprehensive peace agreement between Israel and the PLO. The main objective is the establishment of two states, Israel and Palestine, living side by side in peace and security.
The Netherlands is the 20th largest economy in the world. It combines high income per capita with fairly even income distribution and is one of the most open and outward-looking countries in the world.
The Netherlands Representative Office to the Palestinian Authority (NRO) was opened in 1994, soon after the conclusion of the Oslo Agreements, and was originally located in Jericho. In 1996, the NRO moved to Ramallah, where the institutions of the Palestinian Authority are located.

September 28, 2016 This morning the families of the victims of the MH17 disaster were briefed by the Joint Investigation Team on the initial findings of the criminal investigation into the downing of flight MH17. These findings concern the weapon used to down flight MH17, the location from which it was fired and the Buk missile system’s route of transport.
July 21, 2016 EP-Nuffic has announced an extra deadline for the TMT programme for 10 October 2016 at 4:00 pm local Palestinian time. It is only open for Joint Proposals submitted by an organisation in the Palestinian Territories together with a training provider in the Netherlands. At least 20% co-funding is a requirement. The Netherlands Fellowship Programmes (NFP) promote capacity building by providing training and education for professionals. The NFP is fully funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs under the budget for development cooperation. is responsible for the management of the NFP.
